Who We Are

Hillcrest School of Music is a premier music school that offers private and group lessons from beginners to adults, and carry a full line of band and orchestra instruments, guitars, amps, drums and accessories.

Private lessons:

help students achieve the greatest amount of success in the least amount of time. Private lessons also give children a sense of identity. It is a special time just for them where they can meet with their teacher and work together to improve their own skills and build confidence as they grow. Parents can see this development when the student perform the music learned at seasonal recitals hosted by the teacher. Recitals are fun for students as they get the opportunity to display what they rehearsed and prepared to parents, family and friends. Lessons are usually once a week and are a half hour in length. The cost per lesson is $35 dollars and is paid at the beginning of every month.

Before founding Hillcrest School of Music, the Director, Darnell Moore, M.Ed., shared his love for music as a band director and elementary music teacher for  20+ years with the Atlanta Public School System. Press play above to see one of Mr. Moore's teaching portfolios.

PERFORMANCE ENSEMBLES

Be in a Band! If you are looking to play with others, you’re in the right place! Join a small group, jam band, chamber music ensemble and make music with your friends!

In this Performance based approach students start by playing and preparing songs that inspire them and through weekly lessons and group rehearsals they develop and master the songs they always wanted to learn then present them at their big end-of-season performance. This approach allows students the opportunity to develop authentic performance experiences at real performing arts facilities.  All ages, instruments, and levels are welcome to join if they have experience on their instrument, if not, the first step on the way to the stage would be private lessons on their instrument of choice. Usually

1-year of private lessons is required. Average ages 9-13. Contact us for more details.
